What does “pure vegetarian” mean?
A pure vegetarian restaurant serves vegetarian food only. There is no meat, fish, seafood or egg anywhere on the menu, and no shared kitchen preparing non-vegetarian dishes. That is different from a vegetarian-friendly restaurant, which offers some vegetarian dishes alongside meat. PureVeg lists only the first kind.
How restaurants are classified
Every listing carries one of three labels. Verified means PureVeg has checked the restaurant against public information such as its own menu and website. Claimed means the restaurant describes itself as pure vegetarian. Community means a diner suggested it and it has not yet been checked. We never guess, and we mark uncertainty clearly.

PureVeg is independently run from Melbourne, Australia. Restaurants cannot pay to be listed, ranked or labelled, and there is no advertising. If a listing is wrong — a closed restaurant, a changed menu, meat on the menu — anyone can report a correction and we review it.
